How Mariner’s Rhyme was bornFor lovers of my signature, the animalic-powdery theme dear to me recurs, albeit more subtly. The animalic note in this composition is the grey amber. The fragrance also has a transparency and luminosity that sets it apart from my initial creations. My relationship with the sea is conveyed through some references dear to me: the sacred sense of the drama in “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by S.T. Coleridge, the epic and theatrical adaptation by Iron Maiden, but especially the mysterious, evocative, contemplative, experimental, immersive instrumental song “Sailor’s Tale” from the album “Islands” by King Crimson.
